Emily Beer is an attorney and a bioethicist. She is the Chair of the New York City Bar Bioethical Issues Committee and a member of the Innovative Bioethics Forum. Emily’s bioethical and legal work focuses on helping clients make informed decisions and navigate the medical environment, especially in complex scenarios like end-of-life care. She is a peer reviewer at Columbia University’s journal, Voices in Bioethics, and regularly serves as a teaching associate for the Columbia University Bioethics Program. Emily earned her JD from Cornell University and her MS in Bioethics from Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies.
