Douglas Simpson is an advocate for medical aid in dying and compassionate care at end of life. An end-of-life doula and the executive director of the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) since 2022, Douglas emphasizes the need for continued dialogue around dying and death.
Prior to dedicating his time in the deathcare space, Douglas spent more than 25 years in retail management for multinational brands. He currently serves as Board Chair of the Academy of Aid-in-Dying Medicine. He was named a C-TAC Changemaker in 2025 and has appeared in AARP, National Geographic, PBS, and other national news sources. Douglas values his role as a caregiver to his mother and has been deeply influenced by the births and deaths of those close to him.
