
Lonny is an aid-in-dying physician, a recognized leader in the field, and a founder of the Academy of Aid-in-Dying Medicine. He’s written numerous articles and books on aid in dying and contributed to amicus briefs for pivotal court cases. Lonny currently serves as the Chair of the Academy Board. He is also the Director of Education, leading the Academy’s many instructors and a team developing the first full curriculum in aid-in-dying medicine, for ten clinical roles — the Learning Pathways in Aid-in-Dying Medicine. He also leads the Academy’s data collections and analyses to develop and support evidence-based practices in aid-in-dying care. In his prior career as a journalist (www.photowords.com) Lonny reported for NPR and produced documentary films.
