Facility Rules for Aid in Dying

Brief Summary: In general, facilities that are actively providing medical care, such as skilled nursing facilities, can opt-out and not allow aid in dying on their premises. But patients living in situations such as adult residential facilities have the same rights as renters, and the facility cannot dictate what happens in their apartments (unless it is illegal). Information detailing the rules for California facilities is below. Please review your own state’s facility rules for potential differences.
